I allow my chickens to harvest most of the soldier fly larvae that my compost generates simply by having a compost bin in the chicken pen. The larvae crawl out to pupate, and the chickens keep a trench dug around the bin to catch them as tehy emerge.
I think BSF composting is much more practical than worm composting in a hot climate.
